New City Thrift – Manager Application

Christ’s Loving Hands · Harrison, Ohio

Part-time · About 25 hours/week · Hourly pay based on experience

We’re hiring a part-time manager

We’re looking for a Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of New City Thrift, a ministry of Christ’s Loving Hands. This person will create an organized, welcoming store where customers receive excellent service, donors feel appreciated, and employees and volunteers have the direction and support they need to succeed.

We expect our leaders to model Christ-like servant leadership, following Jesus’ teaching that those who want to be first must be the servant of all (Mark 9:35). As Manager, you’ll lead by example, serve alongside the team, treat people with humility and respect, and willingly step into the work that needs to be done.

This role requires extreme ownership. What happens in or affects the store may not be your fault, but responding to it will be your responsibility. You’ll take initiative, address problems, coordinate help, and follow through until issues are resolved. When a decision requires the Executive Director’s approval, you’ll bring it forward promptly and remain responsible for following through.

You’ll be an employee of Christ’s Loving Hands and must have a personal Christian faith and support the ministry’s mission. Christians across denominations are welcome. You’ll begin part-time, with potential to grow into full-time as store needs and resources allow.

  • Part-time with potential to grow full-time. No employer-provided benefits.
  • In-store at least three days a week, with Saturday coverage and flexibility to fill scheduling gaps.
  • Personal Christian faith, strong organization and computer skills, and ability to lift 35 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Retail and leadership experience preferred.

Please read the full job description before submitting your application. We also encourage you to review the operating standards and launch packet.

You’ll need a résumé, three references, and a video cover letter of 90 seconds or less. You can save your progress and return using a private link emailed to you.
